Essaouira

The small town of Essaouira is located south of Casablanca, 175 km west of Marrakech and 190 km north of Agadir. It is a resort destination of choice for Moroccans.

The medina of Essaouira is rather small and is surrounded by a wall. This entries has several wall and each of them gives access to one of the main avenues of the old city. The city of Essaouira is sufficiently small to be seen on foot.

One of the major sights: the fact that most doors and windows are painted blue. Also take the time to visit the port, you will find it through one of the city gates. Essaouira is also famous for its memories. There are all kinds of crafts in the many shops along the alleys of the old city. Memories of Cedar Wood and the carpets are probably the most remarkable.

 

Essaouira is one of the most pleasant of the Moroccan coast. Far from the crowds of tourists you can enjoy a mild climate all year round.
